Extraction Technology, Structural Properties and Antioxidative Activities of Polysaccharides from Codonopsis pilosula

摘要The component content, physicochemical properties and biological activity of medicinal materials were vary according to the origin and extraction technology. In current work, the hot-water extraction conditions, physicochemical characteristics, structure, and antioxidative activity of Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharides from Gansu (HW-CPP) were studied. The results revealed that the yield of HW-CPP from Gansu reached 22.523% when it was extracted with hot water under the conditions: the raw smashed into the powder could through 80 mesh screen, 13:1 (mL:g) of liquid - solid ratio, at 87 degrees C fir 144 min. HW-CPP was soluble in deionized water and 5% NaOH solution. The monosaccharides were glucose, glucuronic acid, galacturonic acid, mannose, rhamnose, galactose, xylose, and arabinose. The microstructure analysis showed that HW-CPP was porous and network constitutive, the particle diameter was between 50-250 nm, and formed random coils or large aggregates in aqueous solution. HW-CPP has strong scavenging activities on ABTS, DPPH, and hydroxyl radicals.
