Influence of collecting pipe structure on external characteristics and wake flow of roto-jet pump

摘要The structure of the collecting pipe seriously affects performance of the roto-jet pump. Taking the open-type test bench for the roto-jet pump and five model pumps with collecting pipes of different structures as the research objects, we analyzed the influence of the collecting pipe structure on the internal and external characteristics of the roto-jet pump. In order to avoid the assumption of isotropic eddy viscosity in the numerical calculation, the Reynolds stress RSM linear pressure-strain model was selected to compare the numerical calculation results with the experimental results to verify credibility of the calculation. The results show that too small or too large an inlet diameter of the test pump collecting pipe will cause the head and efficiency of the roto-jet pump to drop. The shape of the collecting pipe has a significant impact on the head and efficiency of the roto-jet pump, and the wing-shaped collecting pipe has a higher head and efficiency. The relative radius in the range of r' 1.0 of the wake area of the roto-jet pump is affected by the rotating casing. The momentum transfer between the high-speed layer and the low-speed layer is intense, and the Reynolds stress values for the same positions of the collecting pipes of different structures are generally different on the order of 10-4. These results can provide an important basis for the design and selection of collecting pipe structures. Copyright ©2021 Journal of Harbin Engineering University.
