Antitumor activity of different fractions of Cynanchum komarocii in vitro

摘要The antitumor activity of Cynanchum komarovii has not been previously examined in vitro system. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antitumor potential of C. komarovii by studying in vitro antitumor activity of the different fractions extract. The proliferation inhibition rate and IC50 of HepG2 cells in vitro were investigated by the MTT assay of the different fractions of C. komarovii. Our study revealed that the petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone, and 70% ethanol extract of C. komarovii showed significant antitumor activity towards HepG2 cells, and the proliferation inhibition rates, respectively were 63.84%, 64.18%, 63.00%, 74.80%, and 59.60% in the 1000 μg/mL of extract and the IC50 values were 459.88, 388.87, 399.27, 196.66, and 289.17 μg/mL, respectively. It indicated that acetone parts had better inhibit growth effect on HepG2 cells. © 2014 WIT Press.
