摘要 | We modeled the structure and force for the spindle of the fiber optic ring winding machine using a parameterized finite element technique. We used the ANSYS Parametric Design Language Guide (APDL) to simulate the boundary, constraint conditions, and external load in the model. We have two goals: obtaining the minimum structure for the spindle; and constraining the location on the spindle where the skeleton of the fiber optic ring is installed to a maximum deflection not more than 5 μm. We use Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm (FOA) to optimize the spindle structure. By using ANSYS and finite element analysis, we established the FOA algorithm that optimized the spindle structure to obtain the best fit of design variables; the effect of optimization is very obvious. The method is feasible, and it can successfully accommodate a lightweight design for the spindle structure. When the maximum deflection of the spindle is approximately 8.01%, then the structure of the spindle will be considerably reduced by approximately 67.15%. Considering the overall picture, reducing the weight of the spindle not only reduces the cost of the spindle, but also reduces the weight and size of other subsidiary machines.
