摘要 | End-plate connection is one of the main types of beam to column connections in multistory or highrise steel structures. The reinforced concrete (RC) slab contributes to the strength and stiffness of the composite connections if the composite effect between steel beam and RC slab is considered and effective shear connectors are mounted. A 3-D finite element (FE) model was developed by using ABAQUS to simulate the behavior of composite joints with flush end-plate connection and RC slab. The FE model was verified by other researchers' experimental results. The FE results match well with the test results in general. Parameteric studies were performed to learn the behavior of the composite joints. The influences of RC slab, stiffening ribs of column web, reinforcing bar ratio of RC slab, thinkness of end-plate and depth of beam on the composite joint performances were considered. A practical model regarding the relationship between moment and rotating angle of the composite joints with flush end-plate connection was proposed to consider the RC slab effect and to modify some parameters of the Eurocode model based on parametric studies. The curves of proposed model agree well with the FE results, and the model is refered to further study the design approach of this type of composite joints. |
