Microstructure and mechanical properties of(Cu0.7Fe0.3)88-xAl12Zrx by semi-solid processing

摘要A component of Cu-Fe amorphous matrix based composites was designed. And the effects of semi-solid processing on microstructure and mechanical properties of (Cu0.7Fe0.3)88-xAl12Zrx were studied. The results showed that the increase of Zr addition could enhance the glass forming ability of (Cu0.7Fe0.3)88-xAl12Zrx. And the sample x=50 with fully amorphous structure exhibited good thermal stability and glass forming ability. The super-cooled liquid region ΔTx, reduced glass-transition temperature Trg and γ parameter of sample x=50 were up to 92.4 K, 0.415 and 0.361. Meanwhile, the compressive fracture strength of the sample x=50 was up to 1734 MPa, which was significantly higher than that of samples with composite structure. The martensite phase in the sample x=10 was short of strength compared with the amorphous matrix, although contributed to a certain enhancement of the plasticity. As Zr was added and Fe was reduced, the plastic phase disappeared and the brittle intermetallic compound increased, as a result, the sample exhibited a big brittleness. The samples treated by semi-solid processing, and exhibited better mechanical properties, the structure of which was more uniform. ©, 2014, Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Rare Metals.
