Enhancement effect of copper on thermal wear performance of nickel based alloy

摘要The nickel based alloy containing different amount of copper powder was prepared by powder sintering technology. The microstructures of the alloy were observed and analyzed by using optical microscope, SEM and XRD. The hardness and abrasion resistance of nickel based alloy were also studied. Wear tests at different temperature were performed on MMW-1 universal friction and wear testing machine; The results show that trace amounts of Cu can refine grain of nickel based alloy. NiCu and CrCu phases can embed in the matrix organization with the addition of trace Cu, and trace Cu helps lubricant and improve the wear properties of nickel based alloy. When the addition of Cu reaches 1%, the wear properties of the alloy are the best. © 2015, Central South University. All right reserved.
