AbstractIn the coating preparation process, the spray material is a key factor in determining the performance of the coating. Moreover, the coating formed by the monofilament electric explosion has problems such as low wear and corrosion resistance. In order to solve the above problems, this study investigates the effects of energy deposition rate and Fe-Al intermetallic compounds on coating properties under 7.2-10.5kV charging voltage on the continuous wire electroburst spraying experimental platform using Fe-Al metal mixed wire as the spraying material and employs the "concentric double twisting"winding method. The experimental results show that the energy deposition utilization rate of the electric explosion of Fe-Al metal mixing wire is the best when the charging voltage is 8.0-9.6kV, and the Fe-Al intermetallic compounds generated by the explosion enhance the strength and hardness of the coating, and improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the coating. © 2023 IEEE.
