摘要A research about product information models based on STEP and its description methods, exchange mode of neutral file of STEP were described. The models included general information model, structural information model, shape construction model, physical feature model and management information model, which has integrality, consistency, variety, flexibility, neutral mechanism and other characteristics. An application example was given for product information models and exchange mode of neutral file of STEP that utilized to implement system integration between three dimensional CAD and PDM system, and illustrates the models help to implement integration between general CAD systems.
