Processing parameters for preparation of Al nanopowders by confined arc plasma

摘要Pure Al nanopowders were successfully prepared by confined arc plasma method. The crystal structure, morphology and particle size of the nanopowders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and the corresponding selected area electron diffraction (SAED). The process of forming and growing of the metal nanopowders prepared by confined arc plasma were analyzed, and the influences of processing parameters on product yield and particle size of the metal nanopowders were discussed. The experimental results show that the crystal structure of the Al nanopowders is fcc structure, and distributed uniformly in spherical shape.Al nanopowders with particle size ranging from 20 to 100 nm can be obtained under proper processing parameters. The yield and particle size of the Al nanopowders go up with the increase of arc current and gas pressure under constant other parameters.
