摘要 | Detailed flow characteristics in the volute casing of centrifugal pump were studied using the CFD method. The computational domain was made up of impeller passages, volute casing, impeller side chamber and seal clearance. Under the hypothesis of steady flow, the RANS equations in multiple reference frames and RNG k-Ε turbulence model were used to simulate the whole flow fields. The good agreement of computational and experimental performance parameters shows that the CFD method is appropriate for the present study. By revealing the pathlines of fluid released from different circumferential positions on the outlet of impeller, it is found that fluid in the volute casing has the distinct characteristics of layered flow, and the fluid from the impeller passages most near the volute tongue is the major component that leads to disk friction loss and volume loss. |
