Effects of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of rheo-diecasting 2024 wrought aluminum alloy

摘要The effects of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 2024 wrought aluminum alloy produced by rheo-diecasting (RDC) were investigated by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and so on. The results show that when the RDC 2024 wrought aluminum is solution-treated at 495°C for 12 h, the eutectic θ(CuAl2) phase and S(CuAl2Mg) phase are gradually solution-treated into the α(Al) matrix, and the primary particles and the secondary solidification particles grow. The excellent mechanical properties of alloy are obtained as aging treated at 190°C for 8 h, and the peak value of harness is obtained when the aging time is 16 h. The discontinuous precipitation mainly distributes at the grain boundaries, and the alloy has the excellent solution strengthening property.
