Preparation and performance characterization of Ag nanorods by alcohol-hydrothermal method

摘要The silver nanorods were synthesized by alcohol-hydrothermal method under the polyhydric alcohol system combined with traces of sodium chloride, using silver nitrate (AgNO3) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) act as the silver source and dispersant, respectively. The products were characterized by XRD, TEM, XEDS and UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy. The results show that the crystal structure of the as-prepared Ag nanorods are fcc structure, with no other impurity phase appearing, and the lattice distortion is contractive. The morphology of the samples are single-dimensional nanorods with good dispersion, with the diameters about tens of nanometers to 200 nm; the lengths distribute in several micron to scores of micron, and the length to diameter ratio is very high. The purity of the sample is relatively high. There are two surface plasma resonance absorption peaks in 397 nm and 350 nm. The generation mechanism of Ag nanorods was also analyzed. ©, 2015, Chinese Ceramic Society. All right reserved.
